After retirement as Director General-Tourism, J&K in April 2006, Saleem Beg took over the responsibilities of Honorary Convener of INTACH, J&K chapter. He is also a consultant with UNESCO on City Development Plans, founder trustee of Indian Heritage Cities Network—a UNESCO floated trust, and Project Advisor, Children’s World—a project seeking to enhance creative skills of children in Jammu & Kashmir, an initiative of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, Mumbai.
