John Van Sickle

John Van Sickle is Professor of Classics at Brooklyn College (1979-) and of Classical Studies and Comparative Literature at the Graduate Center of CUNY. A Guggenheim fellow, he has received the Distinguished Teaching Award from Brooklyn College. Van Sickle is an extensively published author, with peculiar focus on pastoral tradition, most recently Virgil's Book of Bucolics, the Ten Eclogues Translated into English Verse: Framed by Cues for Reading Aloud and Clues for Threading Texts and Themes (Bare Knuckles Press 2013).
